Our flight leaves from Reagan National Airport in DC at 3:55 PM on June 1st, arriving at JFK in New York at 5:28 PM. Then we leave JFK for Rome at 9:45 PM. We'll have over four hours layover.
But that's nothing compared to everyone else. All the Floridians leave Sarasota sometime around 1:00 and arrive at JFK around 3:00. About seven hours stuck in the airport. But poor Nicole and Dylan will be arriving at JFK from Charleston at around 1:00 PM. Close to nine hours stuck in the airport.
So I guess we can't complain too much about how long we'll be stuck there.
Jan and I have almost everything packed. Our hold baggage is all set, apart from a few tour books. We need to pack up our carry ons, but we figure we can do that after we get home from work tomorrow night.
And the best news? I'm fighting what feels like the flu. I was starting to feel sick Monday afternoon, and I'm still pretty stuffed up today. Hopefully I'll shake this thing before we leave. Travelling while sick pretty much sucks. I hope Jan doesn't catch it from me.
We're scheduled to arrive at the Rome airport (Fiumicino) at noon local time on Saturday, June 2nd. Which is Renee's birthday. Jan and I have our 18th wedding anniversay on June 3rd. And Mom's birthday is the 4th. We'll have a lot to celebrate when we land.
